PSBMB and PSCB to hold international conferences this 2016


2016 is a good year for molecular life sciences in the Philippines with two professional societies namely the Philippine Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (PSBMB) and Philippine Society for Cell Biology (PSCB) scheduled to hold separate international conferences this year.

3rd Forensic Science Symposium (DNA Analysis Laboratory, NSRI-UP Diliman)


The 3rd Forensic Science Symposium 2016 is a two-day symposium (May 16 and 17) covering topics from various disciplines of forensic science. This year’s theme of “DNA as a Catalyst for Change” will focus on the collaborative work between forensic genetics and other branches of forensic science. Local and international speakers will discuss the application of DNA science to the criminal justice system and the impact of DNA technology in strengthening the conduct of forensics-driven investigations in both the Philippine and global landscape.

The DNA Analysis Laboratory of the Natural Sciences Research Institute, University of the Philippines - Diliman will also celebrate their 20th year of establishment. This year’s symposium will feature milestones and accomplishments of the laboratory for the past two decades.

Drug Discovery and Development in the -Omics Era (A-IMBN)

The 17th Asia-Pacific International Molecular Biology Network (A-IMBN) Annual Conference will be held in Metro Manila, Philippines!

This year's theme is Drug Discovery and Development in the -Omics Era. This will bring together experts in the advanced areas of pharmcology and biomedical science.

Genomics in Agriculture and Health for a Better Philippines (PhilSAGen)

The Philippine Society for the Advancement of Genetics, Inc. (PhilSAGEN) cordially invites the public to the 14th National Genetics Symposium (NGS). The NGS is a biennial gathering of professionals in genetics and related fields. It serves as a forum for the presentation of research findings, sharing of knowledge, exchange of ideas, and discussion of topics related to genetics research and education.

The 14th National Genetics Symposium is scheduled to be held on November 27-29, 2014at the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center - Aquaculture Department (SEAFDEC-AQD) in Tagbauan, Iloilo under the theme, Genomics in Agriculture and Health for a Better Philippines.

We invite submission of abstract of posters for presentation. Papers must include the following: Title, Author's name(s) and Title, Company/ Affiliation, Abstract (not more that 300 words) and Contact information in Arial 11 points font size. Entries should be in MS Word format and must be submitted via e-mail to Dr. Ma. Luisa D. Enriquez (malu_e1030@yahoo.com) not later than September 15, 2013. Late manuscripts will not be accepted. The poster presentation committee will review the content of the papers. Authors of approved conference posters will be notified by email on or before October 07, 2013 and must preregister by October 10, 2013. Papers that are not preregistered will not be included in the souvenir program.

Convergence of Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics: Biodiversity (PEMS)

The 32nd Philippine Environmental Mutagen Society (PEMS) Annual Convention will be held on 24 November 2012 (Saturday), 12:30 - 5 pm , at the Chemrez room of Institute of Chemistry Teaching Building, National Science Complex, University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City (please click here for map). The theme of the convention is "Convergence of Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics: Biodiversity". Please check out the PEMS flyer for more details.
